Yet another dirty day’s work in the life of the archaeointern
Looks like somebody needs a lab…
We didn’t have the means to process on site, so we collected samples to process at a later date, in the “outdoor lab.” The samples were very worthwhile, they contained some exciting tiny artefacts such as glass seed beads and shot.
This might look crazy, but I assure you it was safe. Well, the soil samples from the Pointe-Aux-Vieux sites were processed safely. The people, on the other hand were working on the hottest day of the year (I forget the date, but it was the day before “Hurricane” Earl hit). Thank goodness for hoses and smoothies.
