Hog Island Visit

I had the pleasure of visiting Pitawelkek (Hog Island), in Malpeque Bay this August and was astounded by its beauty and unique ecosystem. After spending the past couple of months processing and cataloguing artefacts found on Hog Island during a dig last year, it was great to be able to see the shell midden site where they came from. We were visiting, not digging, but Dr. Kristmanson surveyed the erosional bank surface, and we took some new soil samples which I look forward to processing. I hope to return to Hog Island in the future.
