The excavation at Pointe-Aux-Vieux, in Low Point, Prince County has commenced. The site is in a beautiful location overlooking the shores of Malpeque Bay and Lennox Island.
The first excavation of this early Acadian farm site began in June 2009 when excavations revealed part of a stone foundation, fireplace or what was likely an outdoor oven, complete with charcoal and cultural remains.
It will be a very busy two weeks, but I will try to keep this space up-to-date. So stay tuned for details of the excavation and lots of photos and video!
